Bad Boy - Red Velvet

This is the first cover that I did on Red Velvet's Bad Boy and I thought it would be interesting to present the difference in Singing Technique by performing half the song with Popular Korean Singing Techniques and Popular Western Singing Techniques.

For this cover, I focused a lot on singing with nasality for the Korean Singing Technique and I pitched my voice as how some girl group members would. (For more information on this visit my other page on this)

I actually posted a snippet of this cover onto my Instagram Account and I was glad that many people actually told me that they could tell the difference between the two.

I did this cover to show there is also a difference in singing techniques used by Korean male idol groups as compared to Western Male Singers. Male singers, however do not pitch their voices as Female Singers in some girl group do. I focused on presenting the difference in voice placement for this cover and I hope that the difference is still visible.

Also, I just would like to mention that because of this I accidentally fell into an Exo hole, meaning I am not watching all the stuff they were on, all their mis and comeback shows and watching dramas they were each on. (OMG HELP)

TT - Twice

I did this cover in Korean with the two different singing techniques. I did this to show the difference in technique is what causes a difference in sound, not the language. However as there is a nasalisation of constants in the Korean Language (As mentioned in another page), this results in me singing with a more nasal tone unconsciously/ uncontrollably even when using Western Singing Techniques.

Exo - Overdose

I did this cover as I really love this song and it is really one of my current favourites. Again, I focused on the placement of voice in this cover. I heard covers of this song done with both Korean and Western singing techniques and I think both sound great so I decided to try it for myself as well.
